More than just computers. Hardware is a reflection of the physical tools we have created around us. From an anthropological perspective, everything is fair game. In the 21st century, most everything I touch was fashioned or formed by another human hand: purified water, a chair to sit on, bed to sleep in, carpet under my feet, motorcycle to ride.

Can you remember the first time you rode a bike without training wheels?
I can. A little yellow bike with hard rubber tires. I talked my
dad into taking off the trainers. I started out at the top of our
driveway which had about a 15 degree incline. I ripped down the drive,
into the street and into the neighbors yards. I have been on a bike at

When I was a teenage I suffered from the worst forms of male angst. I ended up swiping my mom's Remo PTS drum set. After destroying that one, I moved up and up. Now, I have 2 drum sets, 3 guitars, 1 bass, 1 piano, hundreds of CDs and thousands of mp3s. [more]
