HTML Guide '96

I built this for one of an Anthropology classes back in 1996. It is geared more toward a grad's students design and implementation.

The guide is built to be linear, where each page follows in sequence, the final page provides a link back to here.

20-Jul: I moved all of the images around. All links have been checked and everything is working as it should be. Enjoy

Optimal Web Design '99

I built this for one of my MBA classes back in 1999. It is geared more toward a manager's view of design and implementation.

The guide is built to be a stand-alone site, so the navigation schema will change and it will not be obvious how to get back here. Click on mis556 to return to this page.

20-Jul: I moved all of the images and css files around. All links have been checked and everything is working as it should be. Enjoy

Is there intelligent life outside of our solar system?

I have been a member of the SETI at home project for a while now, having already completed over 1800 data sets with over 1.8 years of CPU time donated to the project. As I write this, I have 4 Red Hat 2.8 GHz machines running only SETI software. my main desktop which is a XP box, also runs the SETI software full-time. AND my laptop runs SETI as the screen saver when I am on the site at a client.

This project seems so different from the marketing crap we are buried under everyday. Their are corporate sponsors, but the goal is not to make a better/faster widget. The goal is to learn more about ourselves and how we as human being fit into our vast Universe.

Join the Seti@Home project at setiathome.ssl.berkeley.edu or join the digitalFilament.net group.  Then you can  look at the pretty pictures while the software is running as your screen saver...

I have seen other projects similar to the SETI project. At the moment, I can't remember where. I know there is one related to gene mapping of cancer cells. If you have a URL let me know! Drop me a line under Suggestions and I will add the information to the site.
